Our Story
After exiting LiquidFrameworks in 2022, I spent the next two years exploring numerous problems in oil and gas, and how software could be applied as a solution. Many of these I had encountered while running LiquidFrameworks, but never had the time to pursue. However, the most exciting problem turned out to be one I had never considered but in fact had been there since starting LiquidFrameworks two decades ago. The problem was contract compliance but for the E&P companies– the other side of the Quote to Cash process I had been solving for more than two decades for upstream and downstream oilfield service providers.
On the technology side, major advances had been made in machine learning capabilities as well as software engineering in general, and I was excited to leverage these huge improvements. After six months of intense research, technology prototyping and feedback resulting from many sessions with major oil companies, I founded Prolarus in early 2025.
The Prolarus mission is to create the best, most accurate and most easily deployed product for oil and gas companies to ensure that only contract compliant invoices are paid for complex services performed at well sites. The product runs autonomously to validate that services billed are compliant with pre-negotiated price books and MSAs, and also that underlying documents, well beyond the field ticket, accurately reflect the invoice– well before payment is ever made.
Leadership
I have been building software for the oil and gas industry for more than two decades, and I have a deep respect for the work the industry does and the vital product they bring to global markets. The technology that field crews send downhole working in extremely harsh conditions has always been fascinating to me. If I am not working on improving the Prolarus product, I am likely spending time with my family, running, cycling, swimming, in the mountains or generally doing something active outdoors.
